Witnesses to the event say M-Bone was seated in his vehicle when the gunmen pulled up alongside him in another car, fired off two rounds and then fled the scene. The rapper was still alive when police arrived, but he later died in the hospital as a result of his wounds.

M-Bone, whose real name is Montae Talbert, rose to fame with the other three members of Cali Swag District in 2010 with their hit single, “Teach Me How To Dougie.” The song honored the popular dance by hip-hop superstar Doug E. Fresh, and the remix featured Jermaine Dupri, B.o.B., Bow Wow and Red Cafe. The frontman of the group, C-Smoove, tweeted early this morning, “Ma life changed drastically in the blink of an eye. rip mbone.”

Cali Swag District was schedule to released their debut album, “The Kickback” sometime this year. Here’s the video of “Teach Me How To Dougie” (the remix) if you haven’t seen it yet:

The clip shows 50 Cent discussing the Confederate Flag with an elderly woman; while the rapper can’t see past the racism tied to the flag, the woman explains, “People really don’t understand what’s going on at that period in time. Black citizens in this country really need to study the history, because it’s just as much the Black ancestry as it is the White ancestry.”

50 Cent didn’t exactly agree with the elderly woman’s idea that no one should take offense to the flag since it dealt with both races’ history, saying, “She’s offering her truth – what, she’s accepted as the truth based on the information given to her, but I don’t agree with it.”

His home was raided by police in December 2010; officials were attempting to find evidence of drugs and weapons. Because of the raid, the rapper faced several drug charges, including possession of a controlled substance and possession of less than an ounce of marijuana, as well as charges for weapons possession, suspicion of criminal street gang activity and traffic and probation violations. All of the charges were dropped.

The rapper had posted $31,950 bond in January to get out of jail following his arrest.

With these charges behind him, Waka Flacka Flame can shift his focus back over to his music, hopefully releasing more hits like “No Hands.” Check out the music video for the song here if you haven’t had a chance to see it yet:

The album is a follow-up to last year’s “I Am Not A Human Being.” No details have been given as to why the album was pushed back; also, according to one of the album’s producers, the tracklist that appeared on the internet last week apparently does not have any of the track names listed correctly.

The rapper is currently finishing up his U.S. “I Am Still Music” tour with Nicki Minaj, Rick Ross and Travis Barker that officially ends May 1st in East Rutherford, NJ.

Wayne announced in March that he was finished recording – unfortunately, fans will have to wait a little longer to get their hands on “Tha Carter IV.” In the meantime, be sure to check out Wayne’s video for “6 Foot 7 Foot” if you haven’t already:

The line of scarves will use graphics from the albums cover art. The controversial images were designed by George Condo. The line will debut this spring at Colette in Paris; it will be a limited edition of 250 scarves.

For those who can’t get enough of “My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy,” the scarves might just be the way to go. But, if you haven’t had a chance to listen to the album, start by watching the controversial“All The Lights” video here (it has been flagged as potentially triggering seizures in people with photosensitive epilepsy):

“Rolling Papers,” an obvious reference to smoking marijuana, is, according to the rapper, “just my thing. I smoke because that’s where my mind belongs. It’s better for me. I hear music clearer and differently. It makes my writing much more enjoyable. At the end of the day, I don’t depend on it. I’m just one of those people who like to be high all the time.”

The rapper, born in North Dakota as a a military kid, lived all over the world in places like Japan and Germany and eventually settled down in Pittsburgh. Khalifa has been compared to rapper Snoop Dogg – both are tall, thin, fond of marijuana and have very easy-going temperaments. The younger rapper has said before that he idolizes Snoop, who has taken Khalifa under his wing; the two rappers have even collaborated before.

If you haven’t had a chance to listen to “Rolling Papers” yet, be sure to pick up a copy right away. Already, two songs off the new album have made it to the top music charts. “No Sleep” is number one on iTunes top 10 list and “Roll Up” was number six on Billboard’s Hot Rap Songs. The Detroit News also reported that the rapper is trying to sell his Miami Beach Island mansion for almost $13 million in order to pay back the taxes.

With the income tax deadline so fast approaching, perhaps you can take comfort in knowing that whatever you might owe, it likely doesn’t even come close to Wayne’s $5.6 million.

50 Cent first gained widespread cinematic notoriety when he lost 50 pounds to play a football player with cancer in “Things Fall Apart.” Now, the rapper is returning to the big screen playing a tough guy alongside Ryan Philippe and Bruce Willis in “Set Up.” The film is the result of $200 million deal between the rapper’s Cheetah Vision Imprint and Lions Gate that will include 10 films. The film currently does not have a release date.

Ludacris will play a police officer in New Line Cinema’s “New Year’s Eve,” which is the sequel to 2010’s “Valentine’s Day.” The film will follow the “intertwining stories of various characters as they prepare to celebrate New Year’s Eve in New York.” The rapper will share the screen with a star-studded cast that includes Robert DeNiro, Ashton Kutcher, Lea Michele, Jessica Biel, Jon Bon Jovi, Zac Efron, Josh Duhamel, Hilary Swank, Katherine Heigl, Michelle Pfieffer and several other top names. The film will be released on December 9th.
